We’re seeking a Sr. Learning Experience Designer (LXD) to develop world-class learning solutions for our customers worldwide within our interviewing and recruiting technology learning products. In this position, you will be an architect and leader in creating and improving learning products. You will work on instructional design projects that utilize your expertise in adult learning theory, technology, and design to enhance the learning experience of Amazonians. The solutions you create will enable improved employee experiences, shorten lead times to proficiency, and provide performance support at the point of need.
Key job responsibilities
Design and develop innovative learning solutions for Amazon's global TA workforce, leveraging educational technologies and instructional design principles. Create engaging multimedia content, including e-learning modules, video scripts, and interactive elements for TA Tech products and processes. Manage multiple learning projects simultaneously, from conception to deployment, meeting timelines in an ownership-focused environment. Develop and standardize the training product suite, including templates, assets, and style guides. Partner with cross-functional teams to optimize processes and create just-in-time learning solutions for new and existing TA learning products.
A day in the life As the Sr. Learning Experience Designer, you'll play a crucial role in aligning team outputs with high-value learning opportunities, enhancing learner experiences and driving internal development processes across stakeholder teams. Our expanding training portfolio includes TA Tech products for recruiting teams, hiring managers, interviewers, and Bar Raisers. Your responsibilities will extend beyond creating learning products for processes, policies, and skills development; you'll be instrumental in building our tech training product suite from the ground up, including templates, standard training assets, and style guides. In this role, you'll leverage your ability to balance efficiency with quality, crafting impactful learning solutions that meet both time-sensitive needs and high standards of excellence.
You thrive in a challenging, yet highly engaged environment, having the ability to connect the dots organizationally, network effortlessly and influence various roles, levels and profiles to drive collaboration. You have experience with graphic design tools (e.g., Adobe Suite, Figma, Stencil, etc.) and in writing/manipulating code to make learning development software work for you, particularly for accessibility. You lean into using new tools and methodologies, like GenAI and evaluation practices, to develop products for today’s modern learners.
Day-to-day will include leading the consultation process with other L&D team members and stakeholders, developing project plans, working with cross-functional teams on process and design optimization, writing content (e.g., video scripts, text assets, knowledge checks, etc.), designing graphic elements that support learning (e.g., process maps, infographics, characters, etc.), and building training end-to-end.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS - Bachelor’s degree in instructional technology, educational technology, organizational development, or related field or experience in instructional design or learning experience design - Advanced multimedia development in graphic design, audio, video, and/or animation (e.g. Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop) - Experience in authoring tools, such as Articulate Rise, Articulate Storyline, Camtasia, Vyond, or similar - Experience writing custom code and/or basic web development (HTML, Java, CSS) PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - Industry certifications in instructional design, curriculum development, performance improvement, project management, or content-specific certifications as appropriate (e.g. CPTD, CPT, PMP, etc.) - Experience with emerging trends for content creation (e.g. gamification, xAPI, etc.) Amazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
