The Role: Assistant Community Manager

As our Assistant Community Manager, you’ll be the right hand to the Community Manager—helping keep the community running like a well-oiled machine. From leasing and resident retention to reporting and compliance, you’ll have your hands in a little bit of everything—and play a vital part in creating a community residents are proud to call home.

What You’ll Do

Your day-to-day will be dynamic and meaningful, including:

  1. Supporting efficient daily operations of the community
  2. Entering accurate resident data into our property software system
  3. Assisting with reports, compliance documents, HUD recertifications, and lead paint forms (if applicable)
  4. Supervising staff in the Community Manager’s absence
  5. Managing resident and maintenance files, collections, and evictions
  6. Participating in hiring and onboarding of on-site staff
  7. Leading leasing efforts and resident renewals using proven sales techniques
  8. Helping design and implement community engagement efforts like newsletters, events, and referral programs
  9. Ensuring all on-site staff maintain professional appearance and behavior
  10. Responding courteously and promptly to residents, vendors, and prospects
  11. Collecting and recording rent payments, and making daily bank deposits
  12. Reporting unusual property or resident circumstances
  13. Assisting with marketing, community outreach, and special projects
  14. Attending industry events and seeking professional development opportunities
  15. Always upholding fair housing laws and CIG Communities policies and procedures

What You Bring

You’re organized, outgoing, and ready to take initiative. Your ideal background includes:

  1. High school diploma or GED
  2. 1–3 months of related experience or training in property management or customer service
  3. Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  4. A team-first attitude with the ability to work independently when needed
  5. Familiarity with property management software (a plus, but not required)
  6. A passion for helping others and creating great resident experiences
