St. Johns County Board of County Commissioners is seeking a dynamic and creative Library Marketing Associate for our well-established Library Department whose headquarters are located in beautiful St. Augustine, Florida.
The St Johns County Public Library System encourages a love of literature, the arts, and lifelong learning by providing a variety of information, resources, and entertainment to the community. SJCPLS serves all areas of St. Johns County, including St. Augustine, Ponte Vedra Beach, Fruit Cove, and Hastings. The Library System has six branches, two bookmobiles, and offers books-by-mail service. In addition to books, periodicals, and online databases, SJCPLS offers computer access, notary services, Inter-Library Loan, a Seed Library, test proctoring, and many volunteer opportunities. The Library System also offers a dynamic range of programming for adults, teens, and children.
The Marketing Associate will join the Marketing and Engagement team at the Southeast Branch Library and Administrative Headquarters. In this role, the associate will assist the Marketing Coordinator in crafting innovative, engaging content that brings library programs and services to life. The position offers the opportunity to create exciting campaigns across multiple platforms, including web, email, and social media, ensuring alignment with brand messaging. A passion for storytelling, a strong eye for design, and a drive to bring fresh, innovative ideas to the table are essential. Experience in writing, web development, and graphic design is a plus.
Responsibilities:
- Assists in crafting press releases and communications.
- Assists in managing the library's website.
- Assists in resolving staff and/or patron questions or concerns.
- Assists in the collection and compilation of statistical reports.
- Maintains awareness of library trends and issues; reads associated literature; attends workshops and seminars; maintains professional affiliations.
- Provides maintenance, training and support to branch staff for various library technologies and marketing functions.
- Makes recommendations concerning revisions to related policies and procedures.
- May assist in selecting materials for formats assigned by supervisor.
- May assist with creating print and digital marketing content.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent recognized certification. Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college is preferred.
- Minimum two (2) years paid and progressively responsible experience in library or related field.
- Must possess and maintain a valid Florida driver's license and any other endorsements necessary to legally operate vehicles used while assigned to this position.
- Must possess good interpersonal and communication skills in order to serve others.
- Must be able to comprehend, speak and write the English language.
- Must be able to operate a computer.
