The Design Drafter is responsible for the preparation of all component sub-assemblies, sectional details, full fabrication, and installation drawings. This position will require knowledge in Linkex, AutoCAD, and/or SolidWorks and the use of these tools to automate turning equipment design data into Bill of Materials and detailed shop drawings.

Responsibilities:

  1. Review TEi technical standards and design requirements.
  2. Develop required general arrangement drawing, fabrication details, assembly drawings, and full fabrication drawing packages.
  3. Prepare Bill of Material drawings.
  4. Perform preliminary checking/rechecking to ensure accuracy of drawings.
  5. Interact with Engineering Manager, Project Engineer, Design Engineer, other Design/Drafting staff, and Sales Department.
  6. Provide support to immediate supervisor, project engineers, and design engineers within the department.
  7. Perform other drafting duties as assigned and support other engineering departments when necessary.
  8. Interface with DCAP/ Document Control Software and attend project meetings as necessary.

Job Requirements / Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

  1. Knowledge of directly related work experience in drafting various types of pressure vessels and heat exchangers for power generation, process, petrochemical, and refineries is a plus.
  2. Three (3) plus years of CAD mechanical design experience using AutoCAD, Linkex, and/or SolidWorks software.
  3. Experience in mechanical drawings for pressure vessels and heat exchangers for the power, process, petrochemical, and refineries is a plus.
  4. Good knowledge of welding symbols and piping and fitting specifications.
  5. Proficient in Drafting: AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Linkex.
  6. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  7. Experience in SolidWorks is a plus.
  8. Certification in Computer Aided Design (CAD) and/or AutoCAD, Linkex, or SolidWorks design software is a plus.
