The responsibilities of this part-time adjunct instructor position include teaching quality courses for the Communication and Information Design (CID) program in the Department of English and World Languages. We are specifically looking for people who are qualified to teach Speaking and Listening, starting in the Fall Semester of the 2025-2026 academic year.

POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Adjunct Instructor of COMR will perform the following duties:

  • Teach baccalaureate level courses in the Communication & Information Design program in accordance with program needs, specifically the Speaking and Listening Course. This includes preparing and presenting course materials according to department curricular needs; administering appropriate evaluation of student performance; preparing, administering, and grading assignments; holding office hours, and assigning final grades.

Required:

  • Master’s level degree, or Bachelor level degree with at least 18 graduate credit hours in Communication or Rhetoric
  • Experience teaching as the primary instructor

Preferred:

  • A Master’s degree in Communication or Rhetoric
  • Experience teaching Speaking and Listening or Public Speaking at the college level

Compensation:

$3,000 per 3-credit hour course ($1,000 per credit hour) up to 24 combined total credit hours for Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters.
