As our practice continues to grow, we have an opportunity for a skilled
Surgical Authorization Specialist . This position is responsible for pre-certification authorization for surgical patients within our practice. The Surgical Authorization Specialist works primarily over the phone and on the internet to verify insurance coverage and benefits for surgeries and procedures and then works closely with the patient, normally via telephone, to establish payment arrangements for services.

This is a full-time position, Monday thru Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm in our Stuart office.
Requirements
Requirements:
A strong working knowledge of insurance and how insurance plans work to cover office and surgical procedures. A strong comfort level working in online environments. Solid math skills. Experience discussing financial matters and establishing payment arrangements with patients. A polite, professional communication style both in person and over the telephone. The ability to professionally and effectively represent the doctor and the practice in all interactions. EHR experience. Experience in a multi-physician practice, preferably in the orthopaedic field, is strongly desired. Physical Demands:
Primarily sedentary, sitting. Use of general office equipment - keyboard, telephone, scanner, copier. Simultaneously working on the computer while talking on the phone. Periodic lifting, stooping, carrying less than 25 lbs.
