Job Summary
Under the direction of the lead UI/UX designer and supervisor, with oversight by the Director of Digital Communications, design, develop and produce best in class websites, templates, components, and other digital assets, using established brand standards, knowledge of design and front-end development principles and other Web industry standards and best practices. Experience translating design mockups and prototypes into seamless responsive Web pages and components with a high level of accuracy. Experience using the command line, Grunt and working with code repositories such as Gitlab. Experience integrating websites and Web applications with other existing applications, third-party/open-source platforms and/or APIs. Experience applying responsive design principles to digital design and development projects. Experience optimizing front-end code for best end-user performance. Experience using modern design tools, frameworks, libraries, and scripts to produce intuitive and attractive user experiences for websites and applications. Experience absorbing complex technical and conceptual information, identifying key issues and details, and presenting understandable alternatives, both orally and in writing, to individuals of varying technical expertise at all levels of the organization. Experience designing effective, modern, high-quality user interfaces from scratch-through wireframes, mockups and interactive prototypes-using established UI/UX design principles and best practices. Experience designing and developing custom HTML emails that adhere to email design best practices and standards. Experience using professional tools, including Adobe Creative Suite and Figma, for image handling, UI/UX design, illustration, animation, and other state-of-the-art communication capabilities. Skills and ability to develop web functionality using modern programming languages, practices and patterns, including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Skills to use advanced, modern design tools, frameworks, libraries, and scripts to produce intuitive and attractive user experiences for web sites and applications. Knowledge of debugging techniques and usage of browser developer tools. Knowledge of visual design principles with an emphasis on composition, layout and typography. Strong eye for detail. Knowledge of current web strategies and trends. Web graphic design, page layout, and UI/UX skills using a variety of tools, including Adobe Creative Suite. UX strategy and information architecture skills. Project management skills and experience to meet deadlines, follow-through on assignments, take direction, attend to and communicate about the details of any assignment, and juggle multiple competing priorities. Demonstrate personal initiative, time management and strong multitasking skills. Professionalism and diplomacy. Professional demeanor, poise and flexibility to work with diverse colleagues, clients, stakeholders and communities who have widely divergent viewpoints and competing priorities.
