The Director, Content Strategy will direct web content strategy to amplify and promote The Rockefeller Foundation’s commitment to humanity’s well-being. By working closely with The Rockefeller Foundation’s programmatic and creative teams, they will take the lead on managing how best to showcase various content types for The Rockefeller Foundation website and its internal content hub. This position will also work closely with the digital team to develop and execute content marketing campaigns that increase brand awareness, drive website traffic, and generate leads.

Reporting to the Managing Director, Multimedia Strategy and Digital Content, the ideal candidate will have experience leading content strategy for high-visibility organizations in today’s competitive information environment. They will be able to develop and lead web content strategy, have a strong understanding of SEO best practices, and be adept at using analytics to inform content decisions.

Pay Range:

$150,539 - $185,378. This represents the present low and high end of the Foundation’s pay range for this position. Actual pay will vary based on various factors, including but not limited to experience.

Work Schedule:

This role is on a hybrid work schedule and required to be in the office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.

Principal Duties And Responsibilities Create and execute content and marketing strategies aligned with business goals and objectives. Create high-quality, engaging, and optimized content for the foundation’s website. Monitor and analyze content performance and website traffic to continuously improve our content strategy. Optimize website content for search engines, including title tags, meta descriptions, and on-page content. Develop and execute retention policies for content on external and internal sites. Manage relationships with content vendors and consultants. Collaborate with program experts, writers, and other content creators to develop high-quality content that engages and informs. Create and maintain an editorial calendar to review content regularly and ensure the accuracy of content displayed on the foundation’s channels. Monitor and report on content performance using analytics tools such as Google Analytics, LuckyOrange, and Screaming Frog; develop recurring reports and dashboards to assess performance. Analyze audience needs and utilize SEO best practices to drive engagement and achieve desired results. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in content marketing, SEO, and analytics. Education, Experience, And Skills Generally expected to have 10 years of experience in content marketing, SEO, analytics, web writing, and/or content strategy. Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or related field. Experience with content management systems, preferably WordPress or other PHP systems, and experience or willingness to learn SharePoint. Proven experience managing large websites and contributing to content marketing campaigns. Experience managing external agencies and consultants. Strong understanding of SEO best practices and ability to optimize website content for search engines. Experience using analytics tools such as Google Analytics, SEMrush, and/or Moz to inform content strategy and website optimization decisions. Familiarity with or willingness to learn about paid social and digital media advertising like Google Ads and Google Ad grants. Familiarity with channel attribution, UTM parameters, and Looker dashboards. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and project management skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Strong understanding of UI/UX concepts. Ability to use KPIs and data to drive strategy and execution in addition to output on philanthropic initiatives and events for different audiences and sectors.
