As a Video Teleconferencing Engineer, supporting the Department of Energy, you will be trusted to work on complex projects and be responsible for providing technical, administrative, and operational management of a variety of development efforts and projects ranging from simple to complex.

Job Duties/Requirements

  • This position is onsite at a Washington, DC location without the flexibility for telework.
  • Responsible for the configuration and maintenance of worldwide Voice and Video Conferencing System.
  • Responsible for the installation of operating system and security patches.
  • Responsible for assessing the applicability of vulnerabilities and maintain security compliance of the Voice and Video Conferencing System.
  • Provide support for customer scheduled and unplanned outages, regardless of scale and impact.
  • Serve as the point of escalation support for Tier 1 and Tier 2 technicians across all communication platforms.
  • Plans and configures systems for user environments.
  • Supports the acquisition of hardware and software as well as subcontractor services as needed.
  • Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology.
  • Participates in special projects as required.
  • Meet with various customers to determine strategic video and collaboration needs.
  • Maintain proper documentation of systems configurations, to include drawings and standard operating procedures.
  • Review reports and logs for problems and identify appropriate solutions to include developing workflow for lower tier support levels.
  • Provide primary and backup support in maintenance of Video and UC hardware and software.
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare diagrams and documentation for multiple audiences including federal customer leadership, contractors, and business partners.
  • Create project plans and presentations for executive level management, and technical working diagrams and checklists for operations staff. Develop technical and non-technical standard operating procedures.
  • Submit Change Control Proposals (CCP) for the CAB (Change Approval Board).
  • Develop and update technical documentation (network architecture text and diagrams, security plan controls annex and risk assessment, etc.) in support of certification and accreditation for the network.
  • Assist and lead problem resolution activities, coordinating with vendors, tracking and escalating trouble tickets, identify and implement service restoration workarounds, perform root cause analysis, and interface with customers at all levels to report status and lessons learned.
  • Must have excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Must be willing to submit to random drug screening.
