Position Summary

The Ad Graphic Designer I is responsible for editing and improving high-quality graphic art and visual materials for print and digital media. They ensure layouts and designs adhere to brand guidelines, production standards, and best practices. This role primarily focuses on foundational production design work, including ad changes, sales fillers, grid changes, audits, cancellations, and new ads as needed. Working under close supervision, they develop proficiency in design principles and production workflows while ensuring projects meet quality standards and deadlines. Complexity at this level is minimal, with work largely focused on straightforward production tasks, requiring adherence to established guidelines and creative direction while consistently meeting deadlines.

Essential Duties

  1. Edit and refine graphic designs for various print and digital materials.
  2. Maintain consistency with brand and production guidelines.
  3. Utilize design software to adapt creative concepts into final products across multiple media formats.
  4. Assist with new ads, ad changes, sales fillers, grid changes, audits, and cancellations.
  5. Collaborate with team members and take direction to enhance design execution.
  6. Demonstrate strong attention to detail and time management in a high-volume workflow.

Non Essential Duties

  1. Assist with special projects as needed.
  2. Participate in team meetings and provide input on workflow improvements.
  3. Support administrative tasks related to the design team as necessary.

Working Relationships

  1. The Ad Graphic Designer I reports to the Ad Design Manager and does not have any direct reports.

Skill And Knowledge Requirements

  1. Basic proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
  2. Foundational understanding of color theory, composition, typography, and digital design principles.
  3. Strong attention to detail and ability to work efficiently under deadlines.
  4. Basic knowledge of production management and digital marketing management tools.
  5. Willingness to learn, take instruction, and experiment with new approaches.
  6. Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Education/Experience Requirements

  1. Associate's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  2. 0-2 years of relevant design experience.
