KCNC/TV has an opening for a news anchor for our weekend morning news and weekday MMJ. If your passion is serving your community through great journalism, then we are the newsroom for you. The ideal candidate knows how to shoot, write, and edit compelling stories for multiple platforms. Must love breaking news and in-depth storytelling. The candidate must be an outstanding communicator on air, online, and on social media platforms. This role demands credibility, confidence, and a dynamic on-air presentation on our linear broadcast as well as streaming channel.
Required Skills/Experience
- Field Anchor live and recorded, scripted and unscripted, with clarity, accuracy, and confidence for broadcast and stream.
- Collaborate effectively with a wide range of personnel to create compelling content.
- Maintain a steadfast commitment to accuracy and fairness.
- Write clearly and interestingly and use video and graphics to illustrate facts and ideas in the story.
- Strong live reporting skills a must.
- Generate story ideas and participate in editorial meetings.
- Appear at public and station events, as required.
- Five years' experience on air.
Educational Requirements
Requirements: College Degree required or equivalent experience.
Additional Information
Hiring Salary Range: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00. The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program, and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
