Sunbrella, a division of Glen Raven Inc, is recruiting for a Design Manager. This role leads their team in the conceptual and stylistic execution as well as manage their teams workload to ensure projects are executed in a timely manner. They will also work very closely with others from the sales team, calling on key customers and leading design initiatives for individual accounts. Responsibilities include generating design concepts that align with marketing strategies and objectives that meet the business goals. Collaborating and executing projects with other departments and directly managing their own team.

Responsibilities:
- Develop design capability through leadership and inventive concepts by continually generating new ideas with the ability to lead your own team.
- Provide technical design insight and leadership ensuring high quality and consistent design while displaying the expertise that goes into each project.
- Work in conjunction with other members of the Design Team and Sales Team in the development and execution of fabrics and concepts that align with our markets.
- Actively participate in design meetings and discussions.
- Actively collaborate with all points of contact to the Design Team.
- Mentor newer members of the design team by training/education, and also project/work flow based collaborations, and providing ongoing support as needed.
- Continuous learning of our existing markets and new opportunities, and be able to develop quality products based on that knowledge.
- Lead design projects, which might include organizing a team of design staff members working towards the same design or process goal.
- Contribute heavily towards design efforts within department from a technical aspect.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent training in related field.
- 8+ years of professional textile design experience.
- Ability to teach, educate, and share knowledge gained based on industry experiences.
- Expert knowledge of jacquard and dobby design software.
- Expert knowledge of woven design and/or knit design.
- Ability to cultivate strong relationships internally and leading technical design initiatives.
- Ability to learn and gain knowledge of internal technical needs, and propose and implement solutions.
- Ability to work in a team environment within all aspects of the organization.
- The ability to collaborate with team members on design projects.
- Confidence to lead and also delegate tasks.
- Must have a high level of initiative, self-starter.
