Description
Nativity Catholic School in Torrance, California, is seeking a dedicated and passionate music teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment and be a team player willing to collaborate with other teachers to engage students with dynamic and challenging music lessons. The candidate must be very well versed in the Catholic Mass.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans that align with the school’s curriculum.
- Implement a variety of instructional strategies to meet the needs of diverse learners, including the integration of technology.
- Implement classroom management strategies through positive reinforcement; maintain an orderly classroom environment.
- Implement formative and summative assessments to support and inform instruction.
- Collaborate with colleagues to integrate interdisciplinary connections and promote a cohesive learning experience.
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians and administration regarding student progress and academic concerns.
Note: This position entails the following: (1) Teaching music to students in TK through 8th grade. (2) Organizing and conducting a children’s choir to sing at weekly liturgies and once per month at Sunday Mass. (3) Developing the Christmas and Spring concerts and rehearsing with the students for the concerts.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a music related field.
- Valid teaching credential/license.
- Prior teaching experience.
- Basic Catechist Certification, preferred.
Wage Range:
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training, and other department needs.
