JOB DESCRIPTION
Fox News is looking for a standout Associate Producer to join our Fox News @ Night team in our LA Bureau! As an Associate Producer, you have keen editorial skills and strong writing and copyediting talent. You can recognize stories with high potential for compelling television and pitch guests who will inform and enlighten our viewers. You are a proactive, passionate, and self-motivated individual who can handle breaking news well and effectively implement last-minute changes. You are a team player who works well with various editorial staff, guests, and technical teams.
A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Write compelling and informative news scripts that are accurate and conversational.
- Build contacts and develop unique sources that allow you the opportunity to pitch and produce informative guest segments.
- Build graphics and lower thirds that help emphasize and enlighten the viewer on the news subject at hand.
- Edit VO’s and soundbites for air, and package produce taped interviews and field pieces.
- Responsible for working with reporters to produce live shots and packages.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
- A Bachelor's degree in journalism or a related field of study preferred, or equivalent experience.
- 2+ years experience in a television news environment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multitask, and prioritize daily, and especially in breaking news situations.
- Strong communication and writing skills, including copyediting.
- Experience booking guests and producing guest segments.
- Experience with iNews and Viz systems.
Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is: $61,000.00-70,000.00 annually for California. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical / dental / vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
