Assignment Editor Job at Nexstar Media Group Inc. in High Point

FOX8 WGHP is looking for someone who can bring energy, organization, and a sense of urgency to fill our open Assignment Manager position. You will help coordinate daily/nightly news coverage, react to breaking news, research and pitch story ideas. You’ll also manage an assignment desk team of 3 people. The right candidate should have excellent editorial judgement and a keen sense of logistics.

Skills & Requirements:

1. Good communicator
2. Available to take on-call assignments
3. Listen to the scanner and respond to breaking news
4. Develop and maintain contacts
5. Assign crews and track them throughout the day
6. Bachelor’s degree in journalism, or related field preferred
