Job Description
A Sandwich Artist is responsible for providing excellent customer service while preparing and assembling sandwiches to customer specifications. This role requires attention to detail, a friendly and efficient demeanor, and the ability to work quickly in a fast-paced environment. The Sandwich Artist is also responsible for maintaining cleanliness and following food safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Service: Greet customers, take orders, and provide assistance in selecting sandwich ingredients. Offer recommendations when necessary.
Food Preparation: Prepare sandwiches according to customer specifications, including slicing bread, adding meat, cheese, vegetables, condiments, and seasonings.
Maintain Cleanliness: Keep the work area, kitchen, and dining area clean and sanitized according to health and safety regulations. Regularly restock ingredients and supplies.
Food Safety: Ensure food is stored, prepared, and served in compliance with safety standards. Follow proper handling, storage, and cooking techniques.
Cashier Duties: Operate the cash register, process payments, and provide correct change.
Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels and communicate with management about restocking needs. Assist with inventory control and ordering.
Teamwork: Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure the smooth operation of the store.
Qualifications:
Customer Service Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with customers.
Attention to Detail: Ability to follow specific instructions when making sandwiches.
Basic Math Skills: To handle cash transactions and process orders accurately.
Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods and lift light to moderate weights (e.g., boxes of ingredients).
Food Handling Experience (Preferred): While not required, previous experience in a food service environment is beneficial.
Work Environment:
Fast-paced, often with fluctuating levels of customer traffic.
Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Uniforms provided by the employer (e.g., apron, name tag).
