Are you ready to take your skills to the next level? We're looking for a talented designer with a passion for learning and growing in the field of art direction. As part of our team, you’ll create Amazon Fresh marketing assets with a strong focus on digital-first strategies.
In this role, you will develop marketing campaigns, collaborating with stakeholders across the organization to ensure our brand is consistently represented at a high level across all platforms. You will create comprehensive design toolkits for both internal and external production designers to guide the execution of creative assets. The ideal designer will excel in working within established design systems and has a keen eye for detail. A collaborative attitude and a desire to turn ambiguity into innovative experiences will be a great addition to our team.
While this position resides at Whole Foods Market headquarters, the job is dedicated to Amazon Fresh grocery stores. Both brands operate under the Amazon parent company and share a centralized creative team at Whole Foods Market. As the Designer, your main focus will be on Amazon Fresh Grocery Stores, though occasional cross-brand collaboration may occur. You will report to the Design Creative Director, and work alongside Art Directors, Designers, and Writers. We are a people-first company, and big egos don’t work out here. Skills and Requirements:
- A strong proficiency in systematic design thinking, with a focus on digital properties.
- A firm grasp of visual design principles including layout, typography, and art direction.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and conceptual thinking.
- Agility and adaptability in learning new tools and design platforms.
- Create high-quality graphic design assets, including website banners, emails, social media graphics, print ads, store-signage, and other brand materials.
- Maintain and evolve the brand’s visual identity, ensuring all materials adhere to brand guidelines while finding new ways to push the creative boundaries.
- Work from creative briefs to translate concepts into clear and compelling visuals.
- Present your work in the creative reviews, incorporating input from internal Creative Directors and external stakeholders and iterating on designs.
Hard Skills:
- 1-5 years of experience in art direction and graphic design.
- Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and Figma.
- Basic knowledge of responsive web design. HTML and CSS are a plus.
- Experience with managing photoshoots, pre-production decks, on-set experience, and creative project workflows.
- Strong understanding of typography, color theory, and composition across various media.
- Knowledge of brand guidelines and how to apply them to marketing materials.
- Experience storyboarding and developing video concepts is a big plus but not required.
- Designers have the opportunity to art direct video and photo shoots. Experience managing pre-production for photo shoots, working directly with photographers, stylists, and creative talent is a big plus.

- Time management and dependability: Independently manages and prioritizes multiple projects with tight deadlines while consistently showing up for key events, such as photoshoots and production days, ensuring reliability and timely delivery.
- Collaboration and communication: Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively across teams and stakeholders, resolving conflicts professionally and maintaining a positive team dynamic with openness and humility.
- Adaptability: Ability to operate among ambiguity and fast-changing business goals.
This role is based in Austin, TX with an expectation of being in-office five days per week.
Occasional travel required for photoshoots, store visits, and other business-related needs.
