What You’ll Do

Media Negotiating & Buying – 5%

  • Oversee RFP creation and review of partners/site responses, act of point of escalation for partner negotiations
  • Provide final sign off on insertion orders within internal systems tool and accuracy of plan details
  • Act as a resource for team as they work through the planning process
  • Spearhead collaboration with other Horizon Next teams (Business Solutions, Investment, etc.) towards 360 partnerships, incorporating relevant extensions
  • Collaborate with Horizon Next Paid Social team to monitor, manage and optimize activations across Facebook, Twitter and other relevant social environments, ensuring strategic alignment with digital tactics

Digital Media Strategy – 30%

  • Develop and articulate media strategies as it pertains to digital planning and buying, set the team up for success to build tactical plans
  • Employ Horizon Next’s suite of planning, evaluation and buying tools for application/analysis into competitive landscape, target digital consumption support, plan development and reporting
  • Lead brainstorms to kickoff plan & consideration set development with intention of bringing great ideas to life
  • Monitor trends, tools, opportunities and applications in biddable environments, and appropriately apply that knowledge in conjunction with performance teams
  • Oversee junior team members and manage expectations with higher ups in the creation of media specific documents such as media plans, objectives and strategies decks, and other related functions

Campaign Management & Execution – 10%

  • Oversee trafficking and site tagging, follow through to ensure sites are enabled, and functioning properly, QA’ing all pixels
  • Provide final sign off on specs documents and confirm all materials are received from creative agency
  • Ensure that all execution and campaign post launch information are compiled in a timely fashion
  • Act as resource for junior team members on post campaign reconciliation and billing

Reporting & Analysis – 10%

  • Collaborate with Horizon Next Analytics & Business Intelligence teams to aggregate data and ensure standardization across Next accounts
  • Act as primary resource for junior team members as they work through optimization strategies, proactively communicating challenges and opportunities across display, mobile, social and video
  • Coach junior team members on impactful insight writing that is routed in data and action but pulls in larger digital strategy

Relationship Management – 20%

  • Recommend solutions to problems proactively for direct team and other Horizon Next departments
  • Have foresight and understanding of projects to maintain and adjust timing of deliverables for team at large, communicating changes to managers and leadership
  • Apply knowledge of current/previous clients’ specific business and industry to enhance and further relationships
  • Maintain a strong presence across Horizon Next departments (i.e. Business Solutions, Operations, Analytics, Biddable Teams), building trust and accountability

Team Management and Delegation – 25%

  • Manage and develop junior team member(s), creating growth plans and providing clear career goals
  • Manage performance reviews, coaching to maximize success, identifying training needs for improved performance, setting goals for career development and ensuring actions are taken
  • Provide education and training on best practices, media principles, and industry at large
  • Participate in interview process for junior team members roles
  • Guide team in setting goals and project tasks and timelines, ensuring team members have challenging, level-appropriate projects and opportunities to learn new skills, contributing to overall team success

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • 3+ years of experience developing strategic media recommendations and stewarding digital media account projects, acting as a client contact
  • Understanding of advanced analytics and performance media
  • Familiarity with marketing principles, analytics and concepts
  • Exceptionally skilled in Excel and PowerPoint with the ability to discuss how those functions can or should be applied relative to the media planning process
  • Heavy experience in negotiating and constructing digital media plans, with understanding of planning, buying and activation
  • Robust proficiency in basic functions within systems and tools related to the media planning process (i.e. media management system, billing system, competitive and targeting tools)
  • Mastery of third-party ad servers
  • Experience with biddable channels and partner direct
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills; able to confidently present and “sell through” ideas both internally and to Clients
  • Leadership and supervisory experience in terms of developing media professionals

Salary Range

$85,000.00 - $100,000.00

A successful applicant’s actual base salary may vary based on factors such as individual’s skill sets, experience, training, education, licensure/certifications, and qualifications for the role.
