Client Overview: Our client, an apparel company in New York City, is seeking a Packaging Designer to join their team. This person will be onsite 5 days.

Role Overview: We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Packaging Designer to develop functional, visually compelling packaging solutions across multiple product categories, including apparel and accessories. This role requires a balance of design innovation, technical precision, and project management to ensure packaging aligns with brand identity, customer expectations, industry regulations, and production capabilities. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced setting and can effectively collaborate across teams to bring packaging concepts to life.

Packaging Designer Responsibilities:

• Design a range of packaging materials, including bellybands, hangtags, boxes, and more, ensuring consistency with brand identity and market positioning.
• Develop conceptual packaging presentations for internal stakeholders and external partners, including sales teams, brands, and retail clients.
• Prepare digital and physical packaging mock-ups for review and approval by licensing teams and/or customers.
• Collaborate with manufacturers to refine packaging specifications, assess production costs, review layouts, and oversee sample development to meet quality and color standards.
• Generate technical files, dielines, and production-ready artwork to support manufacturing processes.
• Work closely with vendors and suppliers to ensure packaging meets aesthetic, functional, and logistical requirements while adhering to production timelines.
• Maintain quality control throughout the packaging development process, ensuring all final designs align with design intent and regulatory standards.
• Support additional projects as needed to contribute to the team’s overall success.

Packaging Designer Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in design or a related field, with relevant experience in packaging or graphic design.
• Proficiency in MAC OS, Adobe Illustrator, and Photoshop.
• Strong background in packaging development, including materials, printing processes, and structural design.
• High level of creativity with the ability to conceptualize and execute designs in three dimensions.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
• Ability to work independently while also contributing to a team-oriented environment.
• Experience in fast-paced work settings, demonstrating strong problem-solving skills and adaptability.
