The Amazon Private Brands Marketing Organization is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Packaging Production Designer to support the creation and production of packaging artwork for Amazon Basics and Amazon Essentials. This role includes creating design guidance, supporting adaption of designs across all packaging artwork, and the production design of packaging artwork files. In addition it will support in developing style guides, and reviewing externally developed packaging artwork. This is a hands-on creative role that requires high-judgement as well as a high level of execution against visual standards.
The ideal candidate has a strong packaging production design background with experience working on design systems, design adaption, print design, pre-press, and production. They will have experience in consumer brands or e-commerce production design for brand-led packaging. They are highly organized, self-motivated, and enthusiastic, and thrive in a deadline-driven atmosphere. They will be strong problem solvers with the ability to think critically whilst sharing clear reccommendations. Expertise with various design tools and willingness to embrace new design technology to improve speed of production whilst maintaining high quality standards is essential.
Key job responsibilities
Manage multiple packaging production projects ensuring all are completed within identified timelines
Support the Creative Director and Senior Designers with design activities, including creating layouts, templates, placing or cropping images, retouching or image compression or conversion of files across multiple programs (print with the potential for some web and mobile)
Perform shared tasks and activities as needed to ensure Creative Team efficiency, including making design comps, management of assets (font/stock imagery, design tools and resources) and technical troubleshooting
Partner with content team and print production to understand print capabilities and requirements
Prepare final brand and packaging assets for global distribution including logos, icons, patterns, and other artwork
Utilize design tools in order to track, publish, distribute, archive, or review assets
Undertake adaptive design work when required to supplement Creative Team
Review digital proof artwork from agency and external vendors for adaptive artwork
Basic Qualifications
4+ years of design experience
Have an available online portfolio
Bachelor's degree in Design or a related field
Strong proficiency in design/presentation and tools (specifically InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Figma)
Fluency with digital content art direction and production, including familiarity with post-production editing and retouching
Detailed, hands-on experience with typography and image standards for web
In-depth knowledge of design and production terminology
Possess understanding of production tools and processes, keeping current with print production standards and technology
Preferred Qualifications
Ability to problem-solve, support and collaborate with other team members effectively
Agility for time management and prioritization
Superior attention to detail, strong organizational skills, especially as relate to file structure/creation and versioning/archiving
Strong presentation and communication skills (both written and verbal)
Ability to create illustrated assets from a style guide or reference file a plus

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $69,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $148,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
