Core Technical Artist We are seeking a Technical Artist to create stunning in-game visual FX, facilitate art implementation, and collaborate with studio artists and engineers to achieve superior gameplay experiences. Thorough knowledge of Unity is required. Essential Job Functions: Create stunning visual FX to enhance gameplay Identify and solve technical issues related to the art pipeline Assist artists with technical aspects of asset implementation in Unity Optimize the performance of real-time FX and animation Document and evangelize best practices Create tools, shaders, and other components to enhance and refine the art implementation pipeline Qualifications
Education & Experience: Bachelor of Arts in art, animation, computer science, or equivalent experience At least one year of experience in game development At least one game shipped using Unity, or another game engine Required Experience: Thorough working knowledge of Unity, including Prefabs, Particle Systems, and Materials Strong problem-solving skills Working knowledge of C# Working knowledge of 2D graphic software (Photoshop preferred) Experience working in an art/engineering content pipeline Working knowledge of animation state machines Excellent organizational skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Working knowledge of MS Office, specifically Excel and Outlook Bonus XP: Proficient in Photoshop Familiarity with motion graphics & compositing editors (After Effects preferred) Familiarity with 3D animation & rendering applications (3DS Max and Maya preferred) Working knowledge of versioning software (Perforce preferred) Experience working in the slots and gambling industry Experience working with a team under tight deadlines Experience writing art tools Experience writing shaders (Cg preferred) Experience with technical documentation Experience with 3D modeling and animation Understanding of UI / UX principles across various platforms Self-motivated and able to work on multiple projects with minimal direction Light & Wonder and its affiliates (collectively, L&W) are engaged in highly regulated gaming businesses.
