AV Support Engineer, San Francisco We are seeking an AV Support Engineer to join our AV Systems team at Convene’s 100 Stockton property in Union Square, San Francisco. The AV Support Engineer will report to our AV Systems Manager. What You’ll Do: We are seeking a San Francisco-based AV Support Engineer to support our Central and West regions. As a hybrid employee, the AV Support Engineer will handle routine and critical support of worldwide AV systems within the Convene portfolio. This position reports to the AV Systems Manager and collaborates with the AV Engineering department to troubleshoot, maintain, research, develop, and certify the company’s integrated AV systems. The ideal candidate will have experience and knowledge of integrated AV systems, including video distribution and control systems. Knowledge of live event audio/video fundamentals is a plus, but not required. A strong interest in developing AV programming skills (audio DSP, Acoustic Echo Cancellation, Crestron control systems, etc.) is highly beneficial. Responsibilities: Manage remote and in-person work orders through our internal ticketing system Receive and claim work orders from the AV Systems Manager Maintain communication with senior engineering and operations staff Report results, ask questions, and identify issues Coordinate costs, scheduling, and instructions with staff and external vendors Complete additional tasks as assigned Supervise third-party AV integration workers on-site Perform internal Quality Assurance procedures Ensure external work orders and new property openings are completed properly Stay updated on Convene’s AV systems and industry trends Collaborate with AV staff and on-site teams to ensure systems are operational with minimal disruption Respond promptly and professionally to support tickets and in-person tasks Qualifications: 2-4 years of experience as an AV Installer/Technician for integrated systems CTS certification preferred Interest and experience in AV control systems, DSPs, and AV over IP technologies; certifications from Crestron, Biamp, Extron, Cisco are a plus Knowledge of testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning AV systems Understanding of networking concepts related to AV (IP addresses, VLANs, IGMP) Ability to visualize and describe signal paths of audio, video, control, and network Experience with audio mixers like Yamaha TF3 Good ears for audio issues and good eyes for wiring issues Proficiency with Mac and Windows OS Ability to follow AV engineering processes and organize work using tools like Jira Experience with AV installation tasks, including cable termination and overhead installation Physical ability to lift 50 lbs and work on ladders Visual acuity for cable termination Customer service and hospitality mindset Compensation: The salary range for this role is $90,000 to $100,000, with eligibility for an annual incentive bonus.
