About the Role

The Company is seeking a Dean for its School of Music and School of Theatre, with a focus on advancing programs in music and theatre education. The successful candidate will be an experienced and creative academic leader, responsible for providing both academic and administrative leadership to ensure the excellence of the curriculum, faculty development, and student success. This role involves strategic planning, budget oversight, and program development, as well as fostering innovation in arts education and maintaining a visible presence in the performing arts community. The Dean will also be expected to lead fundraising and community engagement efforts, and to ensure compliance with accreditation standards. Applicants for the Dean position must have a terminal degree in a discipline related to music or theatre, or a combination of a baccalaureate degree with exceptional professional experience, or a Master's degree in Arts Administration/Management with significant related professional experience. A distinguished record of achievement in music, theatre, or a related field is essential, as is a proven track record in fundraising. The ideal candidate will also demonstrate a strong commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging in the arts. The Dean will work in partnership with university leadership and external stakeholders to advance the missions of the School of Music and the School of Theatre, and to ensure the continued success and recognition of the institution as a leader in performing arts education.
