Job Title: Ship Piping DesignerJob DescriptionWe are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Ship Piping Designer to join our team in designing piping systems using AutoCAD-based software and ShipConstructor. This role is crucial in supporting our shipyard projects, specifically for the United States Coast Guard's large vessel designs. The successful candidate will work under the guidance of a Senior Designer and collaborate closely with other Designers and Engineers.ResponsibilitiesDesign piping systems using AutoCAD-based software and ShipConstructor.Translate piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) into 3D models and 2D drawings.Collaborate with team members to ensure design accuracy and project success.Communicate frequently with Designers and Engineers to align on project requirements and updates.Utilize specialized shipbuilding software that integrates with AutoCAD and mechanical design.Essential SkillsProficiency in AutoCAD and ShipConstructor.Minimum of 3 years of experience with ShipConstructor.At least 5 years of experience working on piping detail design within the maritime community.Strong understanding of piping systems and instrumentation diagrams.Ability to translate P&IDs into 3D models and 2D drawings.Excellent teamwork and communication skills.Additional Skills & QualificationsFormal education in drafting (preferred).Working knowledge of translating P&IDs to 3D models and 2D drawings.Work EnvironmentThe position is based in an Actalent Services Office, providing a collaborative environment with access to advanced design software and tools. Position is located in Fort Worth, TX.
