Design and layout high density printed circuit boards (PCBs) using Cadence Allegro / Siemens PADSDesign multilayer stack-ups (up to 86+ layers, various materials and design rules) using various CAD systemsGenerate all output files required to manufacture, assemble and test the final productUnderstand and calculate controlled impedance of Strip-line, Micro-strip and Differential pair using impedance calculatorsRoute single ended and differential routes and length adjust to meet timingPlace high density and high quantity (up to 10000+) of componentsDesign Power / Ground planes and Power sensing netsImplement and optimize blind and buried ViasImport of IDF and other Mechanical Design Engineering softwareGenerate and maintain Fabrication documentationCreate and Export ODB++ manufacturing documentsDevelop new processes or significantly enhance existing ones, documenting changes as neededSupport fully automated design and methodology development, including auto-routingDesign and Layout Digital, Analog, and Mixed Signal layoutsExperience with sequential lamination processing a plusExperience with Mentor Valor a plusExperience with highly sensitive circuits and shielding a plusExperience with high speed signals and clocks (up to 10GHz and beyond) a plusAbility to produce schematics for designs a plusBe an expert in the field, understand current technologies and emerging technologies in PCB manufacturingWork with internal R&D team on as required basis to help with development, PCB material, technology and methodology choices.EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED
Associate's degree in Electronics, Electro-Mechanical or equivalent degree6+ years of PCB Design experienceMinimum of 6 years experience working in PCB layout design.Minimum of 6 years experience working in a high-tech, high volume manufacturing environment.Minimum of 6 years of progressive experience designing PC boards utilizing CAD engineering design software.Demonstrated ability to perform design and layout of PCB boards using IPC or other industry standards.Experience with Excel to manipulate large data files for presentation to customers or automated input to CADSKILL and other machine language scripting expertise a plusRF and MLO/MLC design experience is a plusProficiency in a mechanical design CAD system and ability to produce medium to complex mechanical drawings a plusDetail orientedPassionate work ethicGood communication skillsWork with a high sense of urgency and results orientationAbility to read and understand technical documentsWORK ENVIRONMENT May be required to visit a clean room environment wearing appropriate PPE.Compensation and Benefits The pay range for this role in Carlsbad CA is between $41.70 and $52.15 per hour. The pay range may differ in other locations. FormFactor maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in education, training, skills, relevant work experience, business needs and market demands. Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
