I&E Designer III – Ponca City, OK
Contract Position | Oil & Gas Industry Leader
Our client, a prominent company in the Oil & Gas sector, is seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Electrical/Instrumentation Designer for a contract position at their Ponca City Refinery . This role is ideal for a motivated individual with a strong background in CAD design and leadership within refinery projects.
Location: Ponca City Refinery
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8-hour shifts (Overtime possible)
Clearance: TWIC card preferred (must be able to obtain prior to start date)
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate a team of designers and drafters to ensure efficient and accurate project completion.
- Develop and modify electrical and instrumentation (E&I) drawings for Refinery Technical Services (RTS) projects.
- Work independently with minimal supervision while managing project deliverables and deadlines.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineers, contractors, and mechanical craftsmen.
Requirements
- 15+ years of experience with CAD software (AutoCAD and/or MicroStation).
- Solid understanding of electrical or instrumentation design.
- Basic knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC).
- Proven ability to lead project design teams effectively.
- Strong desire to learn and take initiative.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work within a diverse team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate degree in Design, Drafting, or Engineering Technology.
- Experience with SmartPlant Instrumentation (SPI) .
- TWIC card in hand or willingness to obtain one before starting.
