There is something for everyone in this scenic community.Job Summary:Maintains responsibility for operating and providing adequate maintenance to polysomnographic equipment. Analyzes and conducts sleep studies, in order to provide an accurate diagnosis for patients with sleep disorders. Follows strict safety and privacy protocols. Assists with patient needs and prepares equipment for each use.Job Requirements:Education and Work Experience: High School Education/GED or equivalent: Preferred Associate's/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred Two years' technical experience: Preferred One year's sleep lab/EEG experience: Preferred Experience with EEG amplifiers and filters: Preferred Licenses/Certifications: Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) or Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) or Registered Sleep Technologist (RST) or Certified Pulmonary Function Technologist (CPFT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT): Required Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQIBLS) certification: Required Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) or Registered Sleep Technologist (RST) or National Certified Respiratory Therapist (NBRC-CRT) or National Registered Respiratory Therapist (NBRC-RRT) or Certified Pulmonary Function Technologist (CPFT): Required Basic Life Support (BLS) or Healthstream Basic Life Support (HS-BLS) or RQIBLS or Heartsaver CPR (CPR): Required Facility Specific License/Certifications: State Respiratory Therapist (RCP/RRT): Required Essential Functions: Verifies all prescribed orders. Clarifies orders as necessary using appropriate communication channels as authorized within scope of license or work permit. Operates equipment, sets up techniques, sterile procedure and supplies needed to perform various special procedures. Performs polysomnograms and titrations according to department protocol as authorized within the scope of license or work permit. Prepares and analyze readings for interpretation by a physician. Monitors patient respiration, heart and brain activity during procedure. Operates equipment to record sleep and awake physiology readings of patient. Orders supplies and maintains equipment. Completes appropriate paperwork. Files polysomnogram studies and reports. Evaluates the effectiveness of sleep test/interventions against expected outcomes. Uses assessment data to develop and document a sleep test plan. Educates and trains patients on the use of Home Sleep Testing (HST) equipment, as necessary. Supports and trains new employees. Verifies all prescribed orders. Clarifies orders as necessary using appropriate communication channels as authorized within scope of license or work permit.
