Position: Advertising Research Specialist

Department: AE Media

Reporting to: Advertising Research Manager

Location: Topeka, KS - Onsite

Overview

Do you have a curious mind, a passion for data and research, and a knack for uncovering what works in media and advertising? At Advisors Excel, we’re looking for an Advertising Research Specialist who thrives at the intersection of innovation, analysis, and strategy. In this role, you’ll help shape the future of our marketing and media efforts by identifying new opportunities, testing new strategies, and providing key insights that drive advisor growth.

This role is situated in Topeka, Kansas, and it is exclusively an on-site work arrangement. Additionally, please note that the company does not extend sponsorship opportunities at this time.

What You’ll Do

• Conduct research on emerging media platforms, marketing tools, and campaign strategies
• Evaluate ideas from internal teams and leadership, contributing to the prioritization of the R&D roadmap
• Assist in the planning and coordination of pilot campaigns, including documentation of scope, KPIs, and timelines
• Collaborate with internal teams (Media, CSG, Digital, etc.) to ensure tests are executed effectively
• Analyze and interpret campaign performance data, identifying actionable insights and success indicators
• Prepare clear reports and presentations to summarize findings and support recommendations
• Support smooth handoff of validated initiatives to operational teams
• Maintain awareness of marketing trends, compliance standards, and platform best practices
• Help improve internal processes by sharing feedback, identifying roadblocks, and suggesting refinements
  
  

Experience You’ll Bring

• 2+ years of experience in media, advertising, marketing, or a related field
• Strong research and critical thinking skills
• Ability to translate data into meaningful insights
• Comfort working across multiple projects with shifting priorities
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Organized, self-motivated, and eager to learn
  
  

Bonus Points

• Experience with campaign testing, A/B experiments, or pilot projects
• Familiarity with content strategy or paid media campaign structure
• Google Ads or Meta certification
• Familiarity with digital marketing platforms (e.g., Google Ads, Meta, YouTube)
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite
• Experience in a fast-paced team environment or agency setting
