Import Entry Writer

About the Role:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Import Entry Writer to join our dynamic team. This role is essential to ensuring seamless customs clearance and compliance for international shipments. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of import regulations, exceptional organizational skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality service to our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and submit accurate import documentation, including customs entries, invoices, and packing lists.
- Classify shipments and apply the correct Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) codes to ensure compliance.
- Communicate with customs officials, brokers, and other government agencies to facilitate clearances.
- Collaborate with clients to gather necessary documentation and provide regular updates on shipment status.
- Monitor shipments for compliance with federal and international trade regulations.
- Maintain accurate records in compliance with audit and regulatory requirements.
- Identify and resolve entry discrepancies, ensuring smooth import processes.
- Provide exceptional customer service, addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as an Import Entry Writer or in a similar customs brokerage role.
- Strong knowledge of import/export regulations, HTS classification, and customs documentation.
- Proficiency in using customs software and tools, including ACE and CargoWise (preferred).
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with clients and government agencies.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
