Description
Amazon is seeking an experienced public relations professional to join our global team and lead communications for Amazon Autos and other emerging products. Amazon is continuously innovating to bring new and exciting products to market, revolutionizing various industries and enhancing customer experiences across diverse sectors.
As a PR Manager for Amazon Autos and emerging products, you will provide communications counsel to, and partner with, business leaders to craft and implement holistic communications programs that help educate and inspire our audiences about Amazon's latest ventures. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, developing and executing owned and earned communications strategies, tactics, and content; ongoing media relations; collaborating with stakeholders across a variety of Amazon communications and business teams; and working with our international teams to help extend and localize programs for their regions.
The successful candidate is customer-obsessed with high-judgment. They are exemplary written and verbal communicators, with exceptional media relations and project management skills. The candidate should have experience working with high standards under tight deadlines, and a proven track record of earning trust from internal and external stakeholders, as well as effectively managing complex and high-profile media/speaking engagements in the automotive and technology sectors.
Key job responsibilities
• Spearhead owned and earned communications strategies and messaging for Amazon Autos and other emerging products across media engagements, speaking engagements, and owned channels/events
• Manage executive speaking and media engagements related to new product launches and initiatives
• Provide strategic PR counsel and support to business leaders in the automotive and emerging products divisions
• Keep current on industry trends, issues, and news in the automotive and technology sectors, and proactively provide related counsel
• Build and maintain relevant media relationships in technology and automotive industries
• Successfully manage complex, fast-moving and unexpected communications challenges, particularly during new product launches and emerging market entries
Basic Qualifications

7+ years of recent professional communications or public relations experience

Bachelor's degree

Experience proactively managing a current network of media contacts
Preferred Qualifications

3-5 years of automotive communications experience

Experience writing for a range of audiences and formats, including press releases, blog posts, statements, social media, and briefing packets.

Experience working internationally, including with media across multiple regions

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $114,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $188,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
