On the Books team, our mission is to inspire readers by making it easy to read more and get more out of reading. In pursuit of this, our 70+ person Research and Design Studio provides the user research, UX design, and brand design for Kindle E-readers, Kindle apps, Author & Publisher tools, and book shopping experiences used by millions of readers and thousands of authors and publishers around the world.
We are looking for a highly-motivated, highly-curious, Sr. UX Designer for Publisher Experiences to join our team in our downtown Seattle location. You will be instrumental in shaping the future of our next generation of enterprise publishing experiences. The Publisher Experience team defines and drives the digital publisher website experience, reporting, and analytics customer experiences. We look to integrate emerging technologies like GenAI to deliver best in class UX on the behalf of our customers.
This person will help define the experience for the portals that publishers worldwide use to work with us every day. You will work with senior leaders, engineers, product managers, and design peers to gather research, develop concepts, create presentations, and deliver high fidelity customer journey walk throughs. This is a high visibility assignment and you will work closely with cross-functional partners within Amazon Books including Kindle teams.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 8+ years of design experience
- Have an available online portfolio
- Experience with design tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign and prototyping in HTML, JavaScript, CSS, Ajax
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience applying scrum to visual or UX design processes
- Experience with UX design of complex workflows
- Experience acquiring user data (e.g., conducting usability studies, performing user research) and creating personas and journey maps
