About the role
AIG is looking for a resourceful self-starter to join our global Internal Communications team. This professional will play an integral role in supporting the development and implementation of communications programs and activities that will inform, engage and inspire our employees around the world. The ideal candidate is someone who will come to work every day with energy, ideas, and the commitment to drive results.
This position will collaborate closely with other communications professionals across the organization. This role reports to the Associate Director, Leadership Communications.
Key Responsibilities:
With a demonstrated track record of successfully developing and writing internal communications within a complex, matrixed, global organization, key responsibilities for this role include:
Build strong relationships with internal clients, partners and peers across the AIG enterprise.
Work closely with Global Marketing & Communications teams (internal communications, external communications, global functions, business marketing) to partner with AIG leaders/partners to advance our strategic priorities and provide best-in-class communications support.
Collaborate to develop creative solutions and new initiatives that inform colleagues and increase engagement around the world.
Draft communications materials including but not limited to announcements, talking points, scripts, presentations and functional/business articles for our intranet.
Ensure high quality, clarity and consistency in all materials and across all internal content platforms.
Contribute to engaging intranet content that communicates AIG’s progress.
Support planning, logistics, content development and successful execution of events such as Town Halls, leadership meetings, leadership videos, speaking engagements and other events, as appropriate.
Assess complex challenges and apply solid judgment to recommend next steps or approaches on initiatives to help the team achieve goals.
What we're looking for
Bachelor’s degree required, MBA or other advanced degrees preferred.
10+ years of relevant experience developing and crafting internal communications within a highly complex/matrixed global company. Experience in a regulated industry is preferred but not required.
Strong team player with excellent judgment and commitment to the highest standards of delivery and execution.
Effective communication, project management, facilitation, conflict resolution, analysis, and interpretation, visionary and strategic thinking skills. Excellent writing and verbal communication skills.
Confident, friendly and collaborative style.
Demonstrates an executive presence and the ability to creatively problem-solve and share best practices.
Deep and broad business acumen; understanding of various communication channels
Collaborates effectively with a range of stakeholders throughout the organization.
Strong relationship management, interpersonal, influencing and networking skills; track record of building relationships across a global, matrixed enterprise.

For positions based in NYC, the base salary range is $95,000 - $110,000. In addition, the position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.
