Seeking candidates for a full-time music ministry position with a passion for worship music. The goal is to deepen the assembly's prayerful encounter with God through liturgy. The music minister will develop a music ministry that includes choirs, instrumentalists, cantors, and a vibrant singing assembly, employing various liturgical music genres appropriate for Mass, seasons, and special occasions.

Start date: January 3, 2023

Responsibilities:

1. Plan, select, and prepare music for weekend liturgies, holy days, weekdays, weddings, funerals, and seasonal services. Lead or provide coverage for these liturgies.
2. Recruit, train, and direct rehearsals for adult choir, bell choir, cantors, and instrumentalists.
3. Coordinate additional musicians for special occasions.
4. Expand the liturgical music repertoire and teach hymns and mass settings to promote active participation.
5. Develop the choral, hand bell programs, and singing assembly.
6. Organize and maintain music spaces and equipment.
7. Participate in workshops and programs related to liturgical music.
8. Collaborate with parish leadership, update hymnals, and maintain music resources.

Position Qualifications:

• Degree or minor in music; proficiency in transposition and improvisation; 3+ years preferred.
• Skills in pipe organ, keyboard, vocal technique, choral conducting, and music tech operations.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Practicing Catholic with knowledge of Roman Catholic liturgy and documents.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding parish matters.
