Position: Intermediate Interior Designer / Architect
Location: New York City (In-office, 5 days a week)
We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Intermediate Interior Designer / Architect to join a dynamic studio. The ideal candidate is locally based, has a strong interest and background in single and multi-family residential design, and possesses the technical skillset to take a project from concept through construction administration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Lead Designer on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Contribute to the design development process through SketchUp models, mood boards, material sample curation, and conceptual sketch drawings.
- Develop and produce technical drawing sets that reflect the Studios design intent.
- Research and refine design details, including architectural and millwork components, as well as finish, hardware, and other schedules.
- Coordinate design documentation with consultants to ensure project alignment.
- Interface with construction teams to ensure successful project execution.
- Lead the Studios Construction Administration phase, managing RFIs, submittals, and contractor correspondence.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 4-7 years of full-time professional experience in an architecture and/or interior design studio.
Proficiency in the following software:
- AutoCAD
- SketchUp
- Adobe Creative Suite
- Bluebeam Revu
- Bachelor's or Masters degree in Interior Design or Architecture from an accredited institution.
- Residency in or near New York City.
- Ability to work in the office five days a week.
- Fluent in English, with strong communication and coordination skills.
