The Marketing and Business Development Team Leader Role
We are at an exciting stage in our journey and are ready to welcome our first full-time Marketing and Business Development Team Leader to integrate these functions and drive our next phase of growth. Reporting to the Company President, you will leverage your leadership experience to provide strategic direction and oversee the operational execution of Prism's integrated Marketing Communications and Business Development functions.
Your core focus will be business development, guided by a deep understanding of our industry, competitors, and clients. You will lead the planning and execution of RFP and proposal processes while empowering Prism team members to generate project opportunities. You will also provide strategic direction and oversight for all marketing communications activities, ensuring consistent and impactful brand messaging as Prism's brand champion.
Collaboration will be key-you will work closely with our consulting and support teams, as well as external contractors, to fulfill your responsibilities, which include:
Marketing Strategy
- Continue to refine, execute and evolve Prism's annual Marketing Plan and support the company in achieving annual marketing targets.
- Own the brand and foster brand accountability and championship within the Marketing Team and across the company.
- Serve as strategic partner/advisor to company leadership in marketing.
- Oversee the annual Marketing and Business Development budget and seek ways to improve return on marketing investments.
Team Leadership
- Foster a culture of positive engagement and high performance.
- Lead strategic integration of activities, content, tools, processes and knowledge across the Marketing Team to meet the goals and objectives outlined in the Marketing Plan.
- Provide support to team members on their day-to-day issues and concerns, as well as long-term career development
RFP and Proposal Management
- Manage and continuously improve the proposal development process and resources, ensuring that Prism's consulting team members receive effective proposal management support.
- Coordinate with other members of the Leadership Team in monitoring and updating the active opportunity pipeline and ensuring that the right opportunities are identified, evaluated, and acted on in a timely manner.
- Support the production of proposals as needed, including taking ownership of proposals and / or performing quality assurance for complex or strategic opportunities.
Account and Client Relationship Management
- Maintain Prism's Client Relationship Management (CRM) platform, including ensuring accurate data management, providing input on features and training for new users.
- Provide direction, guidance and tools for our Account Management, Service Area Lead, and Client Relationship policies, programs and activities.
- Marketing Communications, Public Relations and Strategic Partnerships
- Provide leadership and oversight for the marketing communications functions, ensuring the development and maintenance of:
- Brand-focused materials and guidelines to ensure consistency and strong brand identity.
- Collateral for strategic service areas to support key business objectives.
- An annual content strategy, executed across all channels, including the website, social media, and email newsletters.
- A website strategy, including ongoing content maintenance and optimization.
- An annual strategy for public relations, strategic partnerships, and thought leadership opportunities.
Market Intelligence and Internal Metrics
- Oversee industry, competitor, and client research activities, ensuring the effective collection, analysis, interpretation, and dissemination of data to inform marketing and business development strategies.
- Provide leadership and oversight to ensure the timely collection, analysis, and application of analytics across Prism's channels, including the website, social media, email newsletters, and client surveys, to drive informed decision-making.
Qualifications and Experience
Ideal candidates will have many of the following qualifications, experience and competencies:
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, communications, public relations or similar.
- At least 10 years' experience and progressive responsibility in marketing communications, business development, or proposal and bid management role, preferably in a B2B/B2G professional services firm environment.
- Ability to think and act strategically to enhance brand positioning and drive business success.
- Theoretical foundation and skilled application of marketing and sales principles.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to clearly express ideas to diverse audiences.
- Experience writing and implementing a marketing plan
- Excellent research and analytical skills.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills.
- Proven experience in team leadership is a strong asset.
This is a 40-hour per week salaried position in a hybrid environment. The salary range is $100,000 to $120,000. We will consider your level of experience and responsibilities, competencies, and unique offering to our team.
