Amentum is looking for experienced personnel to expand our healthcare technology development support capabilities at the Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H).
Founded in 2022, ARPA-H is a Federal research funding agency that supports transformative biomedical and health breakthroughs – ranging from the molecular to the societal – to provide health solutions for all. ARPA-H advances high-potential, high-impact biomedical and health research that cannot be readily accomplished through traditional research or commercial activity to develop solutions to society's most challenging health problems.
We are interested in individuals who have experience supporting executive-level personnel at a federal or state agency or major private sector company, preferably one focused on technology development projects. Graphics design specialists will provide support to the Division of Communications, Outreach, Marketing, Public Affairs, and Social Strategy (COMPASS), regularly interacting with Government leadership - Office Directors, Deputy Directors, Assistant Directors for Program Management (ADPM), Program Analysts (PA), and technical Program Managers (PM) - to help create materials that communicate the goals, impact, importance, and status of technology development programs.
Responsibilities will include:
Coordinating with technical personnel to generate graphics and visuals that capture complex technical topics in accurate and accessible visuals, including 2-D and 3-D illustrations, posters, videos, and models representative of products/concepts
Developing “iconic” graphics that capture the focus and intent of programs, events, and evolutions relevant to the agency
Curating images for the photography library, developing iconography, and designing PowerPoint and MS Word templates
Contributing to the editing and quality control of briefs, presentations, and documents communicating the goals and strategy of the agency and/or mission offices and programs
Ensuring brand compliance and messaging consistency
Developing concepts, graphics, and layouts to meet ARPA-H needs, including banners, infographics, signature images, pop-up banners, and print designs
Developing and supporting registration and information websites for events such as proposers days, industry days, technical reviews, offsite events, etc.
Generating material, coordinating inputs, and supporting the updating and management of websites related to the agency, mission office, and/or specific programs and events
Collaborating with team members for design, content, and branding, including the development of interactive content; using JavaScript to manipulate style sheets beyond US Web Design System standard
Establishing and extending search engine optimization (SEO); implementing Google Analytics, search console, and tag manager
Identifying SEO, general performance, and caching policy changes needed; deploy changes using GitHub, Docker
Generating test pages; following US Web Design System standards and Digital Council guidance for privacy, security, and accessibility
Minimum Requirements:
Master’s degree in graphic design or a related field
Fourteen (14) years relevant experience
Demonstrated experience in graphic design or equivalent discipline
Experience in print design and art direction
Adept in state-of-the-art computer-generated graphics and current software packages; experience in computer graphics technology, graphic design and digital marketing
Experience with web development applications or related field
In-depth knowledge of PowerPoint and in preparing visual aids, including text and illustrations
The demonstrated professionalism, maturity, sound judgement, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills necessary for daily interactions with executive-level audiences in a dynamic, high-visibility Front Office environment
Ability to work independently or in a team setting as circumstances dictate
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust US Government Clearance
Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Public Trust Clearance
Highly Desirable Attributes:
Experience in video, graphic, and multimedia productions
Experience in designing and developing promotional campaigns including branding
Experience in visual design and web design including content planning, information architecture and screen flows
Experience in product direction and user experience through mockups and prototypes
Experience in design and developing mobile/web solutions, including large-scale web-based applications
Experience in UI/UX design, mobile web development and game-based training
ARPA-H experience
Other ARPA agency (DARPA, IARPA, ARPA-E, etc.) experience
National Institute of Health (NIH), Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), or Department of Defense (DoD) experience
Experience in a R&D environment
The ARPA-H campus is located on McPherson Square in Washington DC. Hybrid and telework options are likely but residence within Washington, DC metropolitan area is desired.
