JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking an Ophthalmic Photographer to perform highly skilled duties involving specialized equipment to assist physicians in examining and diagnosing eye diseases. Responsibilities include performing ophthalmic imaging procedures such as digital fluorescein/ICG angiography (including IV injections and patient care), fundus photography, optical coherence tomography, retinal thickness analysis, slit-lamp biomicroscopy, goniography, external and O.R. photography, and providing media support. Travel between sites may be required.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide clinical support for ophthalmology using various diagnostic machines. Training on equipment like Heidelberg, Optos, Topcon, Clarus, Bioptigen, Ellex A-scan, and Haag Streit slit lamp camera will be provided.
- Certify on all research studies, review imaging for research cases, and upload images to designated sites.
- Fulfill imaging requests from HIM, including downloading images and coordinating delivery.
- Maintain equipment databases, calibrate machines, and notify management of technical needs.
JOB ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
- Experience with IVFA, ICG, fundus photography, OCT, and ultrasonography is preferred.
- Two years of postsecondary training in photography or medical/biomedical photography/communications, with certification as a retinal photographer/angiographer from recognized centers such as Duke University OCT Reading Center or others listed.
- Clinical trial certification is required; certification as a phlebotomy technician is a plus. Must obtain required certifications within 6 months of hire.
- Minimum of three years of relevant photography experience, including complex ophthalmic procedures like stereo fundus photography, slit lamp, goniophotography, fluorescein and ICG angiography, and OCT.
