The University of Redlands Conservatory of Music seeks an outstanding educator to conduct the Wind Ensemble, teach courses in music education and conducting, and work with students from diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds. As Director of Bands, the successful candidate will be responsible for recruiting, participating in the Performance Studies and Music Education Committees, and building the band program with the possibility of developing a marching band. Applications should include evidence of excellence in teaching, engagement in undergraduate liberal arts education, and a creative commitment to meeting the educational needs of an increasingly diverse student body.
Desired/Preferred Qualifications include a doctorate, at least two years of experience teaching at the K-12 level, and at least two years of experience teaching at the collegiate level. Preference will be given to candidates with a demonstrable record of recruiting for a collegiate music program. The teaching assignment is six courses per year. Some support for moving expenses is available. The tenure-track appointment begins September 1, 2025.

HIRING RANGE: The anticipated hiring range is near or at the minimum of the classification, commensurate with the candidate's education, experience, skills, and training. The University of Redlands is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role.
