Assistant Director of Athletic Development, Communications and Engagement Reporting to:
Director of Athletics Development/Associate Director of Athletics The Assistant Director of Athletics Development, Communications & Engagement maximizes philanthropic support for the University’s tradition-rich Athletics program comprising 22 intercollegiate and 14 club sports. The primary responsibilities include facilitating Communications and Engagement activities to cultivate and steward athletic donors and increase the engagement of Fordham alumni, parents, and friends with the University. This role is expected to participate in key athletics events and DAUR functions. This position requires evenings and weekend work and occasional overnight travel. Essential Functions
Coordinates all athletics development donor communications with DAUR and Athletics Marketing, including all Maroon Club email, mail, social media, and solicitation communications. Executes all Athletics alumni and donor engagement and cultivation events in partnership with the Director of Athletics, including alumni days, pregame receptions, dinners, and golf outings. Serves as the DAUR liaison for all sports, club teams, coaches, and athletics department staff to identify fundraising priorities and opportunities. Enhances knowledge of and maintains current best practices for athletics development and applies a visionary approach to creating mini-campaigns, social media, and stewardship activities. Develops direct marketing, special events, and crowdfunding strategies; coordinates and co-manages fundraising appeals and collaborates with Giving Day campaigns. Leads all call-a-thon and thank-a-thon projects for the athletics department. Manages a donor portfolio of approximately 150 annual giving prospects. Devises individual engagement strategies for each prospect in their pool with the goal of soliciting annual gifts and/or multi-year gift commitments at the $1,000+ level, with specific solicitation goals to be determined in an annual goal-setting process. Ensures contact reporting procedures are followed and timely posting of reports and activities. Pulls reports and analyzes donors, gifts, campaigns, and solicitations. Required Qualifications: Education and Experience Minimum of 4 years of related fundraising experience in progressively responsible positions, preferably in Higher Ed athletics advancement. Required Qualifications: Knowledge and Skills
Previous experience planning, organizing, and executing athletics stakeholder events. Ability to engage prospects in all phases of development: qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship. Strong organizational skills and ability to take initiative, multi-task, and achieve a high level of productivity in a collaborative environment under time-sensitive deadlines. Ability to work effectively with a variety of people and units, including various stakeholders in DAUR, the Athletics department, and across the institution. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrates excellent judgment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Meticulous attention to detail. Self-motivated, flexible, and results-focused. A proven track record for successfully translating strategic ideas into measurable results. Understanding of evolving trends and best practices in college athletics and social and digital media. Familiarity with database and CRM tools (Ellucian, Advance, Blackbaud FPM, Web Focus, etc.). Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Office 365, Google applications, and Adobe Suite. Preferred Qualifications Minimum Starting Salary: $73,000 Maximum Starting Salary: $79,500 Note:
