Job Summary:
The Wilkes Center for Climate Science & Policy is seeking a work study student to assist with creative content production, 10-15 hours per week. This person will help the Wilkes Center Community Engagement and Communications Manager with producing a podcast and managing social media channels for marketing and communications purposes.
Responsibilities:
- Performs in-depth research of materials for prescribed projects. Gathers information from all available sources on assigned topics and compiles the information accurately and understandably.
- Assists in the daily and advance scheduling of events and projects. Gathers, organizes and coordinates materials needed for various programs.
- May write drafts of scripts and inner script segments for audio or video production.
- May assist with setting up and/or taking down recording productions.
- May be responsible for formatting text and graphics into templates for web or social media.
- May assist in production and/or publication and design of marketing materials for web or social media.
- Ensures that complete and thorough research has been performed and that the best information is being used for a production.
- Ensures that productions meet the needs of the public and that the image of the department and University are upheld.

- Ability to assist with interview scheduling, preparation, and asking questions.
- Some experience using audio recording equipment.
- Ability to archive and manage recorded audio on a shared drive.
- Ability to take quality photos for websites and social media.
- Ability to edit digital audio.
- Ability to use AI-generated transcription software to process recorded interviews and correct for grammar.
- Ability to post edited interviews and researcher spotlights to the Wilkes Center website using WordPress.
- Ability to make minor formatting adjustments to WordPress as needed.
This position may require the successful completion of a criminal background check and/or drug screen.
