The Role:
We are seeking our next Manager of Strategy and Operations - someone who will play a pivotal role in driving strategic projects, optimizing operational efficiencies, and supporting business growth for Dow Jones Live Journalism and Events. Reporting directly to the Executive Director of Strategy & Operations, this role requires a strategic thinker with expertise in market analysis, data-driven decision-making, business development, and project management. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of the media and publishing competitive landscape, experience in research and insights, and the ability to deliver actionable solutions independently. This position is designed to foster new growth opportunities and strategic planning while providing essential support to product management and overall business operations.
You Will:
Support the execution of strategic initiatives that drive growth, innovation, and revenue for Dow Jones Live & Events, with a focus on B2B and B2C portfolios.
Develop and manage project plans, including tasks, milestones, resources, and budgets, collaborating with teams across Marketing, Sales, Programming, Event Production, and Finance.
Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and audience segmentation to identify trends, expansion opportunities, and areas for event differentiation.
Assist in developing go-to-market strategies for new and existing event products, ensuring alignment with audience needs and commercial goals.
Assist in integrating Dow Jones' B2B brands (World ECR, OPIS, Risk & Compliance) into the broader events strategy.
Identify opportunities to expand B2B event offerings, particularly in financial, regulatory, energy, and risk-focused sectors.
Identify and manage strategic partnerships to expand market reach, enhance audience engagement, and generate new revenue streams.
Research and recommend innovative event strategies, experiential technologies, and emerging trends to optimize attendee experience and sponsor value.
Champion promotional initiatives such as PR partnerships, awards, and media opportunities to enhance event visibility and impact.
Assist in budget planning, financial forecasting, and resource allocation, working closely with Finance and Operations teams.
Help streamline internal workflows to improve operational efficiency across event execution, team structures, and reporting.
Build and deliver compelling business and strategic presentations for senior leadership, including decks for new business development and strategic initiatives.
Proactively contribute ideas for process improvements and new approaches to business growth.
You Have:
5 to 7 years of experience in business strategy, consulting, marketing, or finance operations, ideally within B2B media, events, or membership organizations.
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, or a related field.
MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
Experienced in developing strategic powerpoint presentations for executive level stakeholders, and proven track record of developing and executing successful go-to-market plans.
Strong project management skills with experience managing complex projects, prioritizing tasks, and delivering results on time and within budget.
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with experience in leading cross-functional teams and managing stakeholder relationships at all levels.
Strategic thinker with a results-oriented mindset, capable of translating business objectives into actionable project plans.
Proficiency in project management tools and software; PMP or similar certification is a plus.
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

Pay Range: $105,000 - $130,000
