Classification Minimum Requirements:
- Currently enrolled as a student at the University of Florida.
Job Description:
- Assist with migrating content from the existing UFTI-T2 website to a new WordPress template.
- Customize website appearance and features using WordPress themes, widgets, and plugins in line with UF branding and web accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1).
- Collaborate with staff to identify website improvement needs and implement new functionalities (e.g., interactive course listings, resource libraries, registration enhancements).
- Create and update program-specific FAQ pages using ChatGPT-style writing to provide engaging and accessible information.
- Support the design and integration of a ChatGPT-based assistant to help users navigate manuals (e.g., operations guides, user handbooks, training documents).
- Conduct periodic website audits to ensure content accuracy, mobile responsiveness, and compliance with UF's digital policies.
- Work closely with the UFTI communications team and UF IT support to coordinate technical needs.
Expected Salary:
$18-$25 per hour
Required Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled as a student at the University of Florida.
- Demonstrated experience managing or developing WordPress websites.
- Familiarity with modern web tools and plugins (Elementor, WPForms, Yoast SEO, etc.).
- Understanding of web accessibility standards and responsive design principles.
- Excellent written communication skills with the ability to craft engaging, concise content.
Self-motivated and able to manage tasks independently while meeting deadlines
Preferred:
- Experience with UF's web policy and digital standards.
- Background in communications, web design, computer science, or related field.
- Experience creating content-specific chatbots using tools like ChatGPT or OpenAI APIs.
- Familiarity with building AI assistants for user manuals or technical documentation-such as setting up a chatbot that understands and responds to questions based on a manual's content.
- Interest or experience in transportation, training programs, or public engagement.
