The ESPN Event- Coordinating Producer Iis responsible for the creative development and production of an assigned sports category or of several assigned sportsand is accountable for the content quality, talent development, budget performance and market share of an assigned sports category or for several assigned sports. They will also be responsible for some studio oversight at various times throughout the year associated with their assigned sport categories. This Coordinating Producer role is intended to be assigned to Men’s College Basketball, and domestic soccer including Men’s & Women’s College Soccer and the NWSL. Note that assignments are subject to change at any time based on the business need. Responsibilities: Plans and coordinates the full scope of remote producing activities of a large full time, temporary and/or matrixed staff of producers and other production professionals accountable for program development and production for assigned sports. Responsible for working with the sport SVP/VP to set the content strategy and production philosophy for assigned sports. Responsible for working with the sport SVP/VP to define the talent plan and determine talent assignments on all assigned sports. Oversees Producers, Directors, Associate Producers, Content Associates, and Production Assistants in all aspects of the production of an assigned sports category. Works with production management team to assign production personnel to all events on assigned sport categories. Works with the Remote Operations team to determine production show levels for all events on assigned sports. Leads and executes regular content calls for assigned sport categories. Regularly provides feedback to talent and production personnel on assigned sports categories. Responsible for the growth and development of assigned talent and production personnel on assigned sports categories. Creates new concepts for assigned sports categories; enhances the current line-up and continuity of assigned sports category. Plans and supports studio shows for assigned sports as needed. Directs the design and implementation of graphics and animations for an assigned sports category. Tracks and reports on production schedules and budgets for an assigned sports category. Oversees and controls the flow of production assets for an assigned sports category. Participates in establishing or establishes advertising, promotions, and sales guidelines for an assigned sport category. Ensures the integration of an assigned sports category or of several sports categories with the sports broadcasts on ESPN networks. Operates within the context of the defined production objectives and outcomes of an assigned sports category. Plays an integral role as a leader in department and supports company priorities through their leadership on departmental needs. Qualifications: Has established expertise to create and produce compelling remote sports productions; is able to generate and execute remote sports production concepts, from inception to execution. Has good mastery of the remote sports production processes and the ability to produce high-level sports events. Has good currency regarding technological advances relative to remote sports productions and a deep understanding of the various production modalities utilized by ESPN. Has established knowledge of what story ideas and concepts to use for remote sports productions. Demonstrates knowledge of the management and execution of live event productions. Minimum of 8 years of progressively complex-related remote or related sports production experience. Preferred Qualifications: Has a good understanding of ESPN’s market positioning and strategies. Has a high-level knowledge of college sports and college sports history. Has extensive knowledge of Men’s College Basketball production and playing rules at all levels of play including High School and College. Has extensive knowledge of Soccer production and playing rules at all levels of play including College and NWSL.
