Overview
The Associate Technical Writer updates existing technical documentation and information about Tyler software products, services, policies, and procedures. They are responsible for producing accurate content, typically assigned directly by the Manager or through more senior staff. The role requires ensuring content delivery meets established guidelines, is completed on time, and adheres to Tyler quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Update existing content for use as product information, online help, training materials, e-learning, support content, proposals, policies, procedures, and other knowledge assets.
- Collaborate with the manager to plan and schedule projects and coordinate with other departments for accurate and consistent information.
- Produce content conforming to established guidelines and best practices.
- Proofread and copyedit content for grammar, punctuation, and style.
- Test content for accuracy and usability.
- Assist in improving departmental processes and style guides.
- Maintain a knowledge base of accurate and approved content.
- Participate in sprint planning or demo sessions with the Software Engineering team.
- Attend User Acceptance Testing (UAT) sessions.
- Update intranet resources as assigned.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- BS/BA in English, Technical Writing, Communication, Journalism, or a related field.
- Entry-level or up to two years of experience in the field or a related area.
- Experience or education in information systems, business processes, and/or software development preferred, or two years of Tyler software experience.
- Basic understanding of Agile development.
- Strong written and verbal English skills.
- Ability to write clearly and accurately.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe Technical Communication Suite or equivalent.
- Experience with other advanced word processing, e-learning, graphic production, online help tools, and web applications preferred.
