Required Qualifications:
ALA-accredited MLIS or equivalent advanced degree and experienceTwo to five years of relevant experience working with metadata in a library or similar settingUnderstanding of the cultural heritage, educational, technical contexts in which images are used for research and learningKnowledge of a variety non-MARC metadata standards and schema, understanding of the impact metadata has discovery and use, and an aptitude for learning new standards and technologiesExperience in creating, editing, and transforming metadata, implementing inclusive descriptive practices in workflowsDemonstrated skills with scripting languages and/or tools for data manipulation (e.g.OpenRefine, Python, XSLT, etc.)Excellent communication, organizational, and project management skills, ability to work well in a team-based environmentThis position is located in Ithaca, New York. The selected candidate will typically work on the Ithaca campus at least 1 day per week, with potential for entering into a flexible work arrangement to allow remote work up to 4 days per week. The university reserves the right to modify, suspend, revoke or terminate the hybrid work arrangement at any time.The New York Convenience of employer guidelines require New York State individual tax reporting and withholdings for this position. This salary range is dependent on the selected candidate beginning after July 1, 2024 and meeting internal Cornell University Library procedures to support hiring at the appropriate rank.Relocation assistance may be provided.Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.How to Apply:
