$98,500 - $105,000
Pay rates at Syracuse University are based on a combination of factors including, but not limited to, the job responsibilities; the candidate’s education, training, work experience and key competencies; the university’s strategic priorities; internal peer equity; applicable federal, state, local laws, grant funding and contractual requisites; and external market analyses.

Job Description:This position will serve as chief spokesperson and leader for athletic administration communications, manage its staff and develop and manage a strategic, innovative, and comprehensive external and internal communication strategy for Syracuse University Athletics. Primary point of contact for all Athletics executive level communications. Collaborate with the external entities of creative services, digital and brand strategy, Cuse.com/ all digital platforms, and Athletics Production/ ACCN to formulate a strategic and integrated communications and brand strategy. Serve as senior staff member responsible for major management issues, strategy and planning and perform and lead various special projects as assigned by the Athletics Director and Deputy Athletics Director. Serve as Syracuse Athletics liaison to University communications and collaborate on issues management and media response strategy.
Qualifications:
A bachelor’s degree required with at least 7-10 years of experience in higher education.
An advanced degree is preferred.
Job Specific Qualifications:
Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
Division I level athletic administration experience with strong organizational and analytical skills; Ability to work in a dynamic fast-paced environment with ability to develop and build relationships with the media.
Ability to work with varied agencies, including within the University and external.
Ability to manage stressful situations; ability and proven work experience multitasking and meeting deadlines.
Proven effective leadership and management skills, consensus builder and team member and leader.
Responsibilities:

Facilitate communications operations in compliance with NCAA, ACC and Syracuse University rules and regulations.
Develop Public Relations plans and strategies for department operations and athletic programs and consistent brand communications in fundraising, marketing, Box Office and department communications.
