What we are looking for:
Wildfire is seeking a skilled and motivated individual with a passion for technology to join our team as an AV Technician. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, configuring, and troubleshooting audio and video equipment, as well as ensuring the successful integration of AV systems. You will work closely with our clients, project managers, and other team members to deliver high-quality AV solutions that meet and exceed customer expectations.
Job Responsibilities:
- Install and set up audio and video equipment including TVs, speakers, video wall displays, automation processors, amplifiers and sound processors
- Utilize hand and power tools to mount and safely secure equipment
- Wire CAT6 data jacks, install network switches and fiber optic cables
- Run and terminate audio and video cables following established standards and best practices
- Support the testing and calibration of AV systems once installed, ensuring optimal performance and functionality in preparation for field engineering’s onsite commissioning
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of installations and projects, to include interfacing with architects, general or electrical contractors, and clients throughout the entire phase of the project
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Carry out warehouse organization and shipping and receiving duties as needed
- Assist with client training
- Attend manufacturer trainings and continued education as needed
Position Requirements:
- High School diploma or the equivalent
- Prior experience is not required, but strongly preferred; experience as a machinist, carpenter, mechanic or similar role that involves regularly using hand and power tools with demonstrated proficiency in tool handling, maintenance, construction, or troubleshooting is highly desirable
- Proactive and self-motivated attitude with the capacity to meet project deadlines while working both independently and as a team
- Strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn and develop new skills
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with a wide variety of clients, consistently creating a customer-oriented approach to conducting business
- Professional demeanor to maintain relationships with all coworkers, vendor representatives, supervisors, managers, customers, and client representatives
- Aptitude to follow work rules and procedures, while always adhering to industry safety best practices and standards
- Must be able to stand, kneel and or crouch for extended periods of time with the ability to reach, climb ladders and scaffolding, and lift, up to 50-pounds
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawing, blueprints, and schematics is not required, but a plus
- Valid Driver’s License
- Ability to reliably travel to and from the office and job site; during working hours company transportation will be provided
- Willingness to travel to customer sites as required and work flexible hours as needed, including the occasional weekend, holiday or evening as dictated by business needs (job requires 25-50% travel)
- Good attendance and punctuality
- Willingness for self-study to take the Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) and/or Certified Technology Specialist – Design (CTS-D) exam (exam fees are company paid)
Hours: This opening is a full-time hourly position. Typical hours are Monday – Friday 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, but our candidates must be flexible on those occasions that require earlier/later hours.
Compensation: Hourly, based on relevant experience and certifications.
