Job Description
Join the City of Savannah Cultural Resources Department as an Audio-Video Production Specialist. This role involves planning, coordination, maintenance, operation, and security of audio, video, and lighting systems for various shows, performances, meetings, and events. Equipment includes computers, software, sound systems, recording gear, projectors, microphones, video screens, monitors, lighting, and related wiring, cables, stands, and rigging.

Responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate audio/visual equipment needs for productions and events, including assembly, connection, tuning, monitoring, breakdown, transport, storage, and security.
- Maintain an accurate inventory of equipment; monitor condition and interconnectivity; perform repairs or replacements as needed.
- Serve as onsite technology manager during events; operate equipment; troubleshoot and resolve issues promptly; perform minor repairs.
- Ensure flawless event execution through proper planning and timely setup, operation, and breakdown of audiovisual equipment.
- Develop safety and security protocols to protect equipment and ensure safety of staff and patrons.
- Collaborate professionally with diverse clients to plan events involving multimedia hardware and software; provide excellent customer service.
- Provide training, mentorship, and coaching to students, staff, and youth interested in audio/video production.
- Coordinate with clients and staff for configuration and setup of rooms, stages, and scenery.
- Remain calm in high-pressure environments; assess situations and make decisions to meet needs.
- Supervise and direct other technicians during events.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Vocational Degree in audio/video technology or related field with two years of experience in setup and operation of audio/video, lighting, and sound equipment supporting live performances, or equivalent education and experience. Valid driver's license required. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, nights, and weekends.
Additional Requirements
Background check, drug screening, medical screening, and verification of education, certifications, and licenses prior to employment. Knowledge of audio/video equipment, sound and projection systems, live switchers, event lighting, stage setup, networking, and wiring. Proficiency in Windows and Mac software and computers. Understanding of facility operations. Skills in multimedia setup, operation, troubleshooting, and working calmly under pressure. Ability to evaluate programming, prioritize tasks, and communicate effectively.
