Job Description
This position is responsible for the functional completion of projects including Installation, calibration and testing configuration, and customer/end user training. The Lead Technician/Foreman will oversee all technicians and materials assigned to their project including task assignments, technician training, and quality control. The Lead Technician will also be responsible for ensuring company/industry standards for Installation and Quality Control meet expectations. This person will also be responsible for the completion of projects in a timely and efficient manner. The Lead Technician/Foreman must always possess the ability to interact with Customers and End Users in a professional and courteous manner.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Read and understand AV wiring schematics and architectural blueprints
- Perform installation tasks for audio visual projects including pulling and dressing cable, terminating connectors, and mounting displays/projectors.
- Take Inventory of materials on site.
- Daily Communication with Project Manager
- Solder, crimp, and terminate various connectors for Field and Rack wiring
- Setup and configuration of hardware Codec or Cloud Based Video Conferencing systems
- Loading, testing, and troubleshooting of Control System software code. (Crestron, Extron and AMX programming knowledge are a plus)
- Out of State travel to various job sites required
- Must be dependable and punctual
- Must have own Hand Tools
- Ability to pass background check
- Must have a valid Driver’s License
- Must have dependable Transportation
Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of signal flow for audio, video and control systems
- Ability to interpret AV line diagrams and typical architectural drawings
- Strong problem solving skills
- Effectively communicate with customers and co-workers in a Professional and Courteous manner
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to Lead and work within a Team
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint, Skype for Business/Teams, etc.)
Education and Experience
- Minimum of 3 years experience in installation of Professional/Commercial Level AV systems
- Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
- AVIXA CTS, CTS-I Certification preferred
Physical Requirements
The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 70 pounds, be able to climb ladders up to 20 feet tall and be able to work in small spaces or closets. The employee is frequently required to stand, climb or balance, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
