Paraprofessional (Library Assistant) - Wildflower

Position Overview
The paraprofessional assists certified staff with students in the classroom to meet instructional goals, supports classroom management, and helps with non-instructional duties to enable teachers to focus on curriculum development and other educational activities.
Essential Job Functions
- Reinforce reading, language arts, mathematics, computer skills, and other subjects with students individually or in small groups.
- Assist with administering and grading tests and assessments.
- Prepare classroom materials and strategies tailored to student needs.
- Maintain records of student progress and behavior.
- Support behavioral management to ensure a safe, orderly environment.
- Supervise students during non-instructional times such as lunch, bus duty, and playground.
- Participate in field trips and assist with educational material distribution.
- Communicate with parents and assist students with special needs, including those with IEPs.
- Follow safety procedures and assist students with disabilities to participate fully in school activities.
Additional Duties
- Support guidance and pupil services staff or administration as needed.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework or passing relevant exams preferred.
- Experience with special needs students is desirable.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to follow instructions, perform basic arithmetic, and use computers.
- Ability to work with diverse groups, maintain confidentiality, and establish supportive relationships.
Physical and Environmental Requirements
- Work indoors and outdoors, including during outdoor activities.
